Research and Resource Management in Dissertation

Just like organizations, the acquisition of research tools, and resource managements (RM) are equally viable approach managing dissertation. As an alternate to the application of RM is the knowledge management system (KMS) to guide such management in dissertation. Likewise, the objective of KMS is to support structure, sharing and application of knowledge in organizations (Alavi & Leidner, 2001). However, this management system can equally be used to guide the application of knowledge management in research field. Knowledge managements are complex and multi-faceted concepts (Alavi & Leidner, 2001). There is the structured data extraction, which is a rule-and learning- based information extraction tactics, (i.e. Statistical NLP community on name-entity recognition and simple relationship extraction. There is also an extraction efforts at Web scale, and extraction efforts in the database community (Doan, Ramakrishnan & Vaithyanathan, 2006). The data cleansing and fusion is another step of importance that will allow in extracting relevant resources of in dissertation writing process.  In doing so, our focus could be on topics relevant to the extraction process.

        There are relationship between human resources management and the knowledge management in developing dissertation. For example, we can talk about training or decision-making approach as forms of human resources management, and to coincide with knowledge management process such as, knowledge documentation and knowledge application (Yahya & Goh, 2002).
