The Concept of Theory

My take on the concept of theory is beyond looking at the theory itself. It is likewise looking at the education behind the theory. For example, the concept of epistemology can help us explore a theory of how human beings come to have knowledge of the world around them. It can also provide a philosophical grounding for establishing what kinds of knowledge are possible and for deciding how knowledge can be judged, adequate or legitimate. Epistemological perspectives that are prominent in many academic experiences, including health education research, have been revealed to be implications for teaching and judgement throughout our lives (Hofer, 2001).
