The Premise, the Prospectus, and Proposal in the Dissertation Process

It is highly important to analyze the relationships, differences and commonalities that exist between the Premise, the Prospectus and the Proposal of a dissertation process. It is necessary to develop the three pieces of dissertation process. This is because of their unique characteristics and distinct qualities. The Prospectus of a dissertation is simply a writing format and layout that does not have convincing argument on the acceptability and the real authenticity of the research approach. Prospectus in dissertation is like a paper identifier that identifies or shows the proposed area of interest in dissertation (Editorial Frague, n.d). Also, it is simply a paper of interest that may not show background information about the subject matter. In prospectus, there is not a chance of project disapproval since the research is not inquiring for approval. The board of the dissertation committees may advice for editions or revisions to improve the quality and content of the proposed research.

In regard to the nature and insights of proposal for dissertation, the submission format of Prospectus is different from that of Proposal. For example, the submission for proposal is done to an anonymous committee. In this case, the research may not necessarily know the members of the committee that will evaluate the project of interest (Editorial Frague, n.d.). It is like entering a game of lottery for ensuring or convincing committee about the viability of your research proposal. Potential researchers and students need to adopt a persuasive approach to dissertation. It is equally important to critically review each statements, tones, and paragraphs of the paper so as to clear all doubts and confusions. Dissertation proposal is like a concept of mapping or foundational approach to dissertation (Cassauto, 2011). It gives the committee or board of the interest a foundational image, rather than the image itself. It further sandpapers the hardwood floor of which the polyurethane will be placed or polished on. The polish of the hardwood floor of dissertation is not the main purpose of dissertation proposal. It rather describes how the arguments will fit in place by drawing methodology, and employing systematic bibliography that leads to conjectural dissertation (Cassauto, 2011). Some of the differences between dissertation Premise and Prospectus or Proposal include the identification of preliminary problem and committee members who will guide the progress of the research. Dissertation premise can include title of the research, problem statement, research approach and references.
